The Importance of chemistry arises because so many other disciplines draw on certain chemical principles and concepts. The purpose of the undergraduate chemistry program at the university and college level is to prepare our students for all those fields where basic knowledge of chemistry is required including academia for careers as professionals in various industries and research institutions.
- Students will have a firm foundation in the fundamentals and applications of chemical and scientific theories including those in analytical, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry.
- Students will be able to design and carry out scientific experiments as well as accurately record and analyse the data of such experiments.
- Students will develop skill in problem solving, critical thinking and analytical reasoning as applied to scientific problems.
- Students will be able to explore new areas of research in both chemistry and allied fields of science and technology.

Botany
|
Botany curriculum is designed to equip students with subject domain knowledge and technical skills pertaining to plants in a holistic manner. It aims to train the students in all the areas of plant sciences with a unique combination of core and elective papers with significant interdisciplinary components as per CBCS. Students have exposure to cutting-edge technologies that are currently used in the subject. They are made aware about the social and environmental issues, significance of plants and their relevance to the national economy.
- A student completing the course is able to understand different branches of Botany such as systematics, evolution, ecology, developmental biology, physiology, biochemistry, plant interactions with microbes and insects, morphology, anatomy, reproduction, genetics and molecular biology of various life-forms.
- They become competent enough in various analytical and technical skills related to plant sciences.
- The student completing the course is able to identify various life forms of plants, design and execute experiments related to basic studies on evolution, ecology, developmental biology, physiology, biochemistry, plant interactions with microbes and insects, morphology, anatomy, reproduction, genetics, microbiology, molecular biology, recombinant DNA technology, proteomics and transgenic technology. Students are also familiarized with the use of bioinformatics tools and databases and in the application of statistics to biological data.
- The student completing the course is capable to perform short research projects using various tools and techniques in plant sciences and develop scientific temperament and research attitude.

- It will help students to identify the concepts about various Applied sciences and Medical laboratory techniques related to concerned area.
- It will help to develop the knowledge on taxonomy of insects. Also, the conservation of wild animals to enhance the economy gained by the zoological content present in the environment.
