Youth Red Cross:

The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) was established under the provision of section 2 of the IRCS Act XV of 1920 with its national Head Quarters in New Delhi. The core focus of IRCS is to promote humanitarian principles and values, disaster management, healthcare in community and blood services. The Youth Red Cross is the most important constituent of its mother organization, Indian Red Cross Society. It is a group movement organized at the initial stages for students between 18 and 25 years of age. We, in our college, have a Youth Red Cross Unit. Any student of any discipline can become a YRC member. Under the guidance of Programme Officer, the students are trained and encouraged to manage various programmes. The motto of YRC is “to serve”.

Principles of YRC:
1. Humanity 2. Impartiality 3. Neutrality 4. Independence 5. Voluntary Service 6. Unity 7. Universality

Objectives of YRC:
1. To conduct social and health awareness progrmmes.
2. Awareness on the care of their own health and that of others.
3. To encourage the students to extend their humanitarian services to the society.
4. To offer First Aid Training to the YRC volunteers.
5. To develop leadership qualities among the students.
6. The understanding and acceptance of civic responsibilities and acting according to the humanitarian concern to fulfill the same.
7. National integration.
8. To foster better friendly relationship with all without any discrimination.

Our institution has been successfully enrolled as a member of Youth Red Cross group in Indian Red Cross Society Uttarakhand comprising enthusiast students. The membership certificate and student list is attached hereunnder:
